Phillip (“Phil”) Gilbert grew up just outside the small Mid-Willamette Valley town of Lebanon, Oregon. Phil’s family owned and operated a water well pump system business and Phil worked for the business during Summers, and some weekends, as well as after school.
Phil obtained an Associates Degree in 1983 (Linn-Benton Community College in Albany) and then his Bachelors Degree (Political Science) in 1985, from Oregon State University.
After graduating from Oregon State, Phil got married, and worked for a few years for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, working as a liability claims adjuster. In the late 1980’s, Phil was accepted at Lewis & Clark College/Northwestern College of Law. Phil obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 1992.
During law school Phil worked for a large Portland law firm that primarily represented insurance companies. After he graduated from law school, Phil worked for two Portland “defense” firms, handling medical malpractice, automobile accident and other cases. In March of 1995, Phil opened up his own firm, in Gresham, Oregon.
Phil has been a member of the state Bars in both Oregon and Washington for more than 20 years, and is also admitted to several federal court Bars, and he was just recently admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
Stan Kapustka grew up in the Portland area and graduated from Beaverton High School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon. After completing management training at US Bank, he attended law school in Portland at Lewis and Clark/Northwestern School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor degree.
Stan was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 1983 and has devoted his career to litigation and litigation resolution. He has years of experience with personal injury cases, both on the defense side and as an advocate for injured clients. He also has considerable experience with Oregon Workers’ Compensation Law, and has appeared in hundreds of Federal Social Security Disability hearings representing disabled individuals. He has extensive experience representing parties in arbitrations and mediations. He has been certified and served as an arbitrator with the National Association of Securities Dealers, and has been certified and served in two states as a foreclosure mediator for the state courts.
His prior experience also includes work as a Deputy District Attorney and as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Oregon. He is admitted to practice law in Oregon, Washington and Florida, and has attained the highest possible rating (AV) from Martindale-Hubbell, the national rating agency for attorneys. He has received consistently high praise from clients, adverse attorneys, and judges. Stan is of counsel to the firm, and is excited about using his decades of experience to benefit the firm’s clients.
